There’s a good chance that it is saving the text but that the editor isn’t importing text? If you open the eps file in a text editor and search for “Avant restauration” for example does it appear somewhere there as a text label? You could also try importing in another editor such as Inkscape and see if it has editable text. With continuous innovation and development, the result is a ground-breaking application that will revolutionise how you work.
After much frustration I decided to try Affinity Designer as the cost the of the program was roughly two months of subscription fees from Adobe. I must say after using the product for a few weeks I am very impressed with what it can do. The hardest part is unlearning to do things the archaic Adobe way. My next step is to download and attempt to dump Adobe Photoshop in favor of Affinity Photo.
I have been using Adobe software since the early s. Thus far, the Affinity suite pretty much replicates what I was using Adobe software for. Since its introduction nearly 30 years ago, the creative software giant has expanded and become an indispensable asset in the design industry.
With more than 20 desktop and mobile apps accessible via the Creative Cloud , Adobe dominates the digital graphic creation market seemingly unrivaled. The most recent challenger? Affinity Designer launched in late and promises to give Adobe a run for its subscription fees. But does it deliver? Now the company is taking on the graphics software market for Mac.
Does Affinity Designer offer enough features to sway long-time Adobe users? Or is it better suited for beginners? For new designers and old pros, Affinity Designer offers a modern, intuitive user interface that allows users to transition almost seamlessly between it and Illustrator.
Budding designers will find all the necessary tools clearly organized and accessible and the default toolbars and keyboard shortcuts will feel familiar to Adobe users. The learning curve is more like a gentle slope for designers experienced in Illustrator or Photoshop. Affinity Designer comes with all the standard pen and shape tools to complete complex vector and pixel-based artwork.
With the persona toolbar—which divides vector, pixel and export tools into three separate sets—users can switch between tool sets without interruption to workflow.

Note I am by no means a professional in this field. Ok thanks. Sent the printers a PDF and asked them to check for background transparency. The printers will let you know. I use Affinity Designer , while not free, nor subscription, is far cheaper than Adobe alternatives and they have a free trial on their site, and the application is in the Mac App Store.

Notify me of new posts via email. I couldn’t open it in InkScape, I got an error. I opened it in a text editor and I have updated my post with some screenshots of this. It seems the eps has Helvetica font, not TT Arial inside it. But we can see at the bottom of the file some of the text is actually added to the eps, maybe it just can’t find the font?
It does appear that Affinity doesn’t allow editable text in eps files. Thank you, that’s great! I didn’t think that the problem would be Affinity! However, if Serif keeps the pace, we may soon see the Affinity suite become a major competitor in the graphic software market.
